Visit
the Capital City - This tour inmerses you in the rich Costa
Rican culture and history by experiencing the beautiful museums
and historical sites of San José.
The
second day discover Poás Volcano, observing on the way huge
coffee fields, dairy farms, strawberry, blackberry, fern and
tropical flower plantations, then "La Paz Waterfall and Butterfly
Gardens", and later we will take a boat ride at The Sarapiquí
River. Next day we will visit a unique ecotourism and research
park, and the Aerial Tram. At the Tram, visitors take a trip
through the hanging gardens of the canopy (the upper level of
the forest). On the Fourth day we depart to the Arenal Volcano
Area. The Arenal Volcano is one of the most active volcanoes
in the Americas. In the afternoon we will be at Tabacón
Hot Springs Resort, where you can relax in the warm waters.
The next morning, we transfer to Monteverde for two days.
The
Monteverde Area and the biological reserve are top tourism destinations.
Natural history travelers made their way up the mountain, lured
by articles, television specials, and word of mouth. It is considered
a wildlife sanctuary famous for the golden toads, the resplendent
quetzals and the community efforts to save tropical forest
based on the spirits of the friendly, peace-loving Quakers
who settled here.
After
the Cloud forest, the next attraction is the Peninsula de Osa
located at the South Pacific coast. At Peninsula de Osa
you can enjoy the Corcovado National Park, five hundred
species of trees, including probably the tallest in the country,
a ceiba or kapok tree that soars to 230 feet (70 m), also eight
types of habitat; montane forest, cloud forest, alluvial
plains forest, swamp, palm forest mangrove and rocky and sandy
vegetation and Caño Island.
The
island is interesting both as an archaeological site and for
its marine life. Rising above the Pacific, the land contains
tall evergreen forest a phehistoric cemetery and mysterious
round stones sculpted by the indians who once walked here. Crystalline
waters are the snorkeler's delight. Five coral's reefs, and
at least 15 species of stony coral, create a marine wonderland.
